Recently, persistent high temperatures exceeding 35°C have resulted in rainfall in Changsha and surrounding areas exceeding 20% below normal, leaving rice seedlings thirsty in the fields. In response to dispatches from the Changsha Water Conservancy Bureau and the Hunan Xiangjiang New District Emergency Management Bureau, the DewaterDrainage Rescue Team dispatched high-capacity water supply and drainage vehicles and specialized personnel to Shuangjiangkou Town, Ningxiang City, and Zhizigang Village, Xiangjiang New District, respectively, to provide emergency water diversion, drought relief, and crop harvest protection.
In Ningxiang City, water diversion from the Weijiang River has covered 30,000 mu of farmland in Shuangjiangkou Town, covering seven villages.
Under the coordination of the Changsha Water Conservancy Bureau, since August 27th, two drainage trucks dispatched by DewaterTechnology have been continuously diverting water from the Weijiang River into the Baiyu River in Baiyu Village, Shuangjiangkou Town, Ningxiang City. The water is then pumped to the main Shahe River canal at the Huangcai Reservoir for rotational irrigation of eight tributaries. This has covered 30,000 mu of farmland in seven villages in Shuangjiangkou Town, substantially alleviating water demand for farmland in the core double-season rice production area. On September 1st, Changsha Vice Mayor Zhou Chunhui visited the site for an on-site inspection and expressed his appreciation for the drought relief efforts. On September 8th, Deputy Secretary Tan of the Shuangjiangkou Town Government and Director Liao of the Water Pipe Station visited DewaterTechnology and presented them with a banner inscribed with the words, "Showing Responsibility in Drought Relief and Disaster Relief, Remaining True to Our Original Aspiration and Serving the People."
On September 8th, Deputy Secretary Tan of the Shuangjiangkou Town Government and Director Liao of the Water Pipe Station visited DewaterTechnology. They expressed their gratitude for the Dewaterequipment's ability to deliver water to Jiuzhigou, a region previously unreached by drought relief efforts. Before departing, they presented Dewaterwith a banner inscribed, "Showing Responsibility in Drought Relief and Disaster Relief, Remaining True to Our Original Aspiration for the People."
Due to the use of high-flow professional pump trucks, this drought relief effort extended the irrigation water source to the furthest point in history, effectively irrigating Jiuzhigou, eight kilometers away.
In the Xiangjiang New District, five-stage irrigation solutionis draining600 mu of farmland in Zhizigang Village.
In Zhizigang Village, Hanpu Subdistrict, Xiangjiang New District, the 3.5-kilometer Louxigang River is nearly dry, leaving 600 mu of farmland on both sides of the river cracked and brittle, and rice seedlings withered and curled leaves.
On August 28th, after arriving at the scene, Dewaterequipment and personnel, along with the Xiangjiang Group Emergency Office and the local subdistrict office, implemented a five-stage irrigation system, overcoming the difficulties of irrigation at Dujia Dam and Gaochong Dam. They gradually bridged the height difference and successfully delivered water to the farmland in various areas. After two days of hard work, they successfully completed the drought relief and crop protection mission.
Going forward, the DewaterDrainage and Rescue Team will continue to monitor weather changes, rapidly respond to directives from provincial and municipal emergency departments, and collaborate with all relevant units to win every battle against drought and ensure harvest success.
